Black Box Investigations is a local-first game. This policy explains our minimal approach to data.

Local-first by design

Black Box Investigations has no sign-in and no EJM Digital backend server. Case progress, pinned evidence, notes, tutorial state and settings are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your notes, gameplay activity, personal profile, device analytics or location, and we do not use advertising network tracking.

Purchases

Full Archive Unlock is handled by the Apple App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes payment details; the app only reads purchase status needed to unlock the full case archive on your device.

Fictional content

The incidents, airlines, aircraft, crew, recordings and findings in the app are fictional. The app does not include real cockpit voice recorder audio or real-world incident material.

Children

Black Box Investigations is designed as a reasoning game for a general audience. Purchases are handled through the App Store and can be managed with Apple parental controls and purchase settings.
